My spirit name is Waubshki Migisi (White Eagle), a name that was gifted to me through a vision and carries deep meaning in my journey. My legal name is Elaine Kwandibens.

Both names tell part of my story. Elaine is the name I have carried throughout my life, while Waubshki Migisi reminds me of my relationship with spirit, truth, healing, and the path I have been called to walk.

Boozhoo and welcome.

This blog is a place where I share reflections from the land, lessons from life, and teachings that have touched my spirit along the way.

I am Anishinaabe, a creator, photographer, writer, and maker. Through my journey, I have learned that some of the greatest teachings come not from books, but from watching an eagle soar, listening to the waters, sitting quietly beneath a tree, or walking through seasons of grief, healing, and renewal.

Here you will find stories, photographs, and reflections inspired by the natural world, the Seven Grandfather Teachings, and my relationship with Kitchi Manitou. Many of these writings begin with something that catches my attention—a butterfly, a cloud, a weathered tree, a still lake—and unfold into a teaching about life, spirit, and our shared human journey.

I do not claim to have all the answers. I am simply sharing what has been shown to me, what I am learning, and what continues to awaken within my spirit.

My hope is that these words and images offer encouragement, comfort, and moments of reflection for those who visit here.

Miigwetch for walking this path with me.
